Bryn Kenney

Now that it's December, those who can take to the virtual felt will have some exciting things to look forward to because of PokerStars' 10th Anniversary. Recently added was a 10th Anniversary $10,000 High-Roller Event that will run on Dec. 18. As for this week, with the exception of one tournament, the numbers were up across the board for the Sunday Majors. Among the winners were Bryn "BrynKenney" Kenny, Sam "aaajack" Chartier, and Paul "pvas2" Vas Nunes.

Team PokerStars was represented well in the Sunday Million as Jose "nachobarbero" Barbero made a deep run, finishing in 23rd place. When the final table was reached, eventual champion "traxxart" entered with the chip lead. As play made its way down to the final four, "traxxart" was the shortest stack but still locked up more than $123,000 when a four-handed deal was agreed upon. Immediately when play resumed, "traxxart" doubled up. On the third hand following the deal, "gabriel171" scored an elimination and it wasn't long before he was heads-up with "traxxart."

On the final hand with the blinds and antes at the 500K/1M/100K level, "traxxart" min-raised on the button. "Gabriel171" three-bet shoved for about 15 big blinds, and "traxxart" made a quick call. It was a race as "gabriel171" tabled {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} against the {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} of "traxxart." The {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop sure made things interesting, but the {5-Clubs} turn locked it up for "traxxart" to notch the victory.

Notable Finishes: Steve "BetrThanPhil" Tripp (13th - $5,795.16), Jose "nachobarbero" Barbero (23rd - $3,228.73), Daniel "GotURead" Reijmer (33rd - $2,883.78)

Making a deep run in the Sunday Warm-Up this week was Team PokerStars Pro Jose "nachobarbero" Barbero finishing just shy of the final table in 14th place. Barbero's final hand came when he three-bet shoved from the big blind with {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Preflop raiser "OliverDK" called with {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} and won the race as the board ran out {K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, sending Barbero to the rail.

"Randall37" and the aforementioned "OliverDK" entered the final table with the big stacks but bowed out in fifth and seventh place, respectively. The final three players remaining worked out a deal and when it was all said and done, short-stacked "raulbcn" made a comeback to claim the victory. On the final hand, "raulbcn" three-bet shoved with {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. "3591omanyd" called all-in with {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs} and watched as the board ran out {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to secure the victory for "raulbcn."

Notable Finishes: Igor "lechuckpoker" Kurganov (10th - $2,385.60)

This week's $109 Sunday Rebuy drew 14 more entrants than last, but had $14,000 less in the prize pool. Winning the tournament outright was online poker superstar Bryn "BrynKenney" Kenney for $59,570.

Notable Finishes: Steve "BetrThanPhil" Tripp (12th - $3,381)

We've teased the last few weeks that the Sunday Storm had been nearly doubling its $200,000 guarantee. Well, this week it came closer than it ever has, drawing a field of 39,815 and a prize pool of $398,150. "R0B_45" won it outright for $32,304.90.

The only Sunday Major to not see an increase in attendance this week was the Sunday Kickoff, which drew a mere two-fewer players this week. A three-handed deal went down with "kenneth81" edging out the rest for the top honors.

Jon Van Fleet

Another Sunday on the virtual felt has come and gone, and four players emerged from the masses to earn six-figure scores. The biggest was $157,420.75 going to the second-place finisher in the Sunday Million. Holding the chip lead when a four-handed deal was made, "MeatPounder" eventually finished second to champion "StuU_0905".

Out of the ten Sunday Majors, seven saw rises in attendance. The most notable player to lock down a victory was Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet, winning the Bigger $162 for more than $36,000.

Although there was a slight drop of 99 players, this week's Sunday Million (like last week's) saw three players earn six-figure scores. "BrazillianDog" entered the final table with the chip lead but busted in fifth place after losing a flip to Canada's "MeatPounder." The {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} of "BrazillianDog" failed to improve against "MeatPounder's" {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} as the board came down {J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}. That paved the way for the remaining four players to work out a deal.

The last two standing were the two biggest stacks at time of the deal - "StuU_0905" and "MeatPounder." The starting heads-up chip counts were nearly even, but "StuU_0905" got the better of the heads-up duel and went on to win. On the final hand, "MeatPounder" got it in with {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, slightly ahead of "StuU_0905's" {K-Spades}{J-Spades}. A flop of {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, followed by the {5-Spades} turn, kept "MeatPounder" in the lead. However, the {A-Spades} fell on the river to make a tournament-clinching broadway straight for "StuU_0905."

Notable Finishes: George Danzer (33rd - $2,714.49)

The Sunday Warm-Up saw a solid increase of 270 entrants this week. The eventual heads-up participants, "LevotonKala" and "gtzy69", each were at different ends of the spectrum with seven players remaining. Holding {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, "LevotonKala" lost a flip to the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} of "bearbeer123" and was left with less than ten big blinds. On the flip side, "gtzy69" took the chip lead when "PSMozak" four-bet shoved about 20 big blinds with {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} into the {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} held by "gtzy69." The kings held, giving "gtzy69" a comfortable stack of roughly 46 big blinds.

Fast forward a few key pots along with crucial double-ups, the once-short-stacked "LevotonKala" entered heads-up play with about a 1.6:1 chip lead. It ended when the blinds and antes were at the 400,000/800,000/80,000 level. With {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, "LevotonKala" called a three-bet with position and saw a flop of {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. After "gtzy69" followed with a continuation bet, "LevotonKala" called and hit the money card on the turn. The {3-Hearts} gave "LevotonKala" trips and it wasn't long before the remainder of "gtzy69's" stack was in the middle. With {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}, "gtzy69" needed a river ace to survive, but the {10-Spades} officially ended the tournament and secured the victory for "LevotonKala."

Notable Finishes: Pius "MastaP89" Heinz (23rd - $1,794.69), Ronald "ronaldgrauer" Grauer (35th - $1,583.5)

The participation in the Sunday 500 was also up from last week as 26 more players entered the tournament. Taking it down was "terrific28," winning outright for $67,151.

Notable Finishes: Mike "chapmoney" Chappus (14th - $3,264.80), Keith "The Camel" Hawkins (20th - $1,780.80), Steve "mcnallyville" McNally (22nd - $1,780.80)

With 5,334 entrants, the Bigger $55 had a decrease of 165 players this week. Still, the tournament easily surpassed it $200,000 guarantee with a $266,700 prize pool. "V_RouNder" pocketed $33,870.90 for the outright victory.

The Bigger $109 gained 188 players this week, moving closer to tripling its guarantee. A deal between the final two players took place, and when the dust settled, "Dimka19881" emerged the victor.

Notable Finishes: George "gkap13" Kapalas (11th - $2,230.40), Ronald "ronaldgrauer" Grauer (13th - $1,672.80), Bryan "bparis" Paris (17th - $1,115.20)

Big-name players have enjoyed big success in the Bigger $162 of late. Last week, it was Dave "SexSeen Sands. This week, Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet defeated a field of 1,387 to claim the $36,700.34 first-place prize.

Notable Finishes: Elad "Gambit360" Nosimaj (14th - $1,456.35), Igor "lechuckpoker" Kurganov (16th - $1,040.25), Stefan "I'am_Sound" Huber (18th - $1,040.25)

The Sunday 2nd Chance was up exactly 50 players in attendance this week. Following a three-handed deal, "B8kedBean" outlasted the field to earn a $38,500 pay day.

Notable Finishes: Thierry "BOKPOWER" van den Berg (11th - $2,214), Andrey "ThePateychuk" Pateychuk (15th - $1,771.20)

Always a good bet to have a tough final table, the $109 Sunday Rebuy didn't disappoint as several online standouts navigated their way to a shot at a win. In the end, it was "superpiouf" who outlasted the field for $59,755.

Thiago "XTheDecanoX" Nishijima

Notable Finishes: Philipp "philbort" Gruissem (30th - $1,130.50)

Despite a small drop of 74 players from last week, the Sunday Storm continues to draw a massive turnout. This week, "rostsi_07" survived the massive field to take it down for $27,684.78.

Nearly 200 more participants in the Sunday Kickoff helped to more than double the guarantee of the first Sunday Major to run this weekend. A deal between the final three players took place with "1dönertasche" earning bragging rights for the victory, along with $19,500.
